    Can't think of Elmore as Old School. I like some of his stuff but Old School? Hmmm....

    Guess you're sticking Darlene Pekul under Other, then?

  3. I relate Elmore to old school artists because I remember his artwork in a lot of Dragon magazines...especially Snarf Quest. And I forgot to add Pekul to the list. I figured I would miss a couple big names

It was indeed a tough choice but in the end I plumped for Elmore precisely because I know there are some out there who either don't consider him old school or feel his work was a death knell to the "proper" old school aesthetic. As for me, he illustrated the Mentzer boxed sets, which were my personal gateway drug, and the Red Box came out in '83--old school enough for me!
