Comic Book Movie News

A little off "gaming" topic...
The new Captain America costume was unveiled the other day, or at least a concept drawing, and I have to say I think I like it. It would be REALLY easy to make ol' Cap look pretty ridiculous (I'm looking at you Reb Brown!) on screen, but I think this may actually look pretty good. Not sure it looks right for WWII, maybe a little too "futuristic", but maybe this is his modern day costume. I've always been a big comic book fan and Cap it in the top ten of my favorites, so I'm looking forward to a good movie, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed just in case.

Now Thor on the other hand...

I'm not sure if I like this or not. This movie is supposed to be a viking-era, period piece and this doesn't look like anything I ever say on the History Channel. Sure he's a god and all, and I suppose gods can wear what ever they want, but I was expecting something a little more primitive I guess.

  1. Your reactions mirror my own. I have seen folks who claim to have seen the real thing say that those aren't good pictures of the Thor outfit--that they make it look to "shiny" and "plastic." So maybe its not as bad as all that, but I still don't think its a great design.

Um, really? There might be flashback scenes in that era, but I'd think the hammer-in-New Mexico scene at the end of Iron Man suggests that it's largely going to be present-day.

The boots really have to go, though. They look like plastic.

  3. The rumors I've been hearing (and these are just rumors) are that it will be a viking-era movie and the end of the movie will have Thor arriving in the modern era in time to join the Avengers.

I think the hammer in New Mexico is a precursor to that
