Dungeons & Dragons: Vegas Style!

I'm not a big gambler. In fact, I don't really like it at all...I hate giving my money to other people like that. But I saw something that might make me want to check out an online casino, at least for an hour or so.

  1. There's a difference between 'franchise extension' and 'whoring the brand'. This, I feel, is an example of the latter.

  2. Yeah, I gotta say your approval here coupled with your other post expressing outrage over Monster Slayers, it all strikes me as kind of confusing.

To my mind, distributing a free game to grow the hobby among kidlets, to my mind, doesn't raise so much as a single eyebrow hair; whereas linking the D&D brand to an outright vice that destroys lives...well, that's something I'd be much more inclined to take WotC to task for, if I could be bothered to get worked up about anything they do anymore.

  3. @sirlarkins - Outrage? Really? it sounded like an opinion to me. I don't recall calling for anyone's head on a platter or a boycott of the company. It just seemed an unusual choice to of marketing strategy to me to go after such a young audience.

Didn't realize it would be such a problem to state an opinion...

  4. I guess the other post got taken down? Ah well. As for this... I'm torn between amusement and cringing.

  5. yeah, it is a little "money whore"-like. I think it's kinda funny that they would attach D&D to a slot machine. Never thought I would see that.

Now if they could just buy the rights to a sports arena
